The Thousand Islands Land Trust (TILT – USA) is charged with the “care, maintenance and community use of Zenda Farms”, a set of buildings that look as if they might have been once owned by the Wizard of Oz’ Tin Woodman.
We were proud to be selected to help tell Zenda’s Canadian/USA story and enormously surprised when “out of the blue” they selected us for the prestigious Merle Youngs Conservation Award. You can imagine our surprise as we listened to the presentation and Rebecca mentioned “their beautiful Chocolate Labrador”. That was our first hint and about 20 seconds before the picture!
Rebecca’s speech:
“The individuals being honored tonight with this award jumped into all that Zenda has to offer with both feet.
They spent countless hours at various Treks and Events at Zenda Farms, approaching each one with a renewed energy, curiosity and warmth. As storytellers, they came with open ears and welcome hearts…
As masters of their craft, they spent countless hours packaging footage and developing a succinct script that artfully shared why this place means so much to us. And much like Mr. Youngs, they welcomed and shared the perspective of a variety of our two- and four-legged pals, including bringing along their beautiful chocolate lab and our newest farm dog, Callie.
For their significant contributions this year’s Merle Youngs Conservation Award is presented to LTR Corp, Doug McLellan and Caroline Yung.”
